When the Rolling Stones perform a sold-out concert tonight in Charlottesville, it’ll be a multigenerational party. The group has been around long enough to win fans among kids and parents and grandparents.

Dad has been a Stones fan since he was a kid. So have his daughters, only about 30 years later. As babies, the girls fell asleep to Stones’ songs placed next to their bassinets. “Sympathy for the Devil” might not be Dr. Spock’s choice for a lullaby, but it’s Sarah’s favorite song.
Eric Spencer: I’m a big Stones fan, and apparently it’s genetic. Both Kay and Sarah have their own disc collection. I saw the Stones on the 5th of July, 1965, at the Dome in Virginia Beach. Back around “Paint It Black”. I even went to London to see back-to-back shows at Wembley Stadium. It’s only rock ’n’ roll, but we like it.
Kay Spencer: A few years ago, we had a Rolling Stones live DVD and all three of us had remote controls and we were singing into them like microphones. We had it turned up really loud. The neighbors were probably wondering what was going on.
